Josh and I hosted middle school boys this weekend with Disciple Now. We had 3 sixth graders and 4 seventh graders. They were definitely a handful (and good birth control, too). We had a great time with them. We met them all on Friday night up at the church.
Saturday they did a servant scavenger hunt. We had never done a
scavenger hunt like this one before. You had a list of things to do for points like washing a car, cleaning a house, walking dogs, etc. We had a really good time doing this. When we got back to the church we played "Deal or no Deal" FBC style.
The kids had to pick a case for their team, and they were given a chance later to trade in their case for another one. Some case had "free" points, and others had "tasks" to do.
These tasks ranged from dropping chee-toes on someone's face covered in whipped cream to drinking a happy meal shake (which is a hamburger, fries, and drink blended togother...yuck!!). Our guys had to do "How much do you love me." They put peanut butter and whipped cream on two sides of a piece of glass. The guys had to lick the peanut butter off completley. It got real messy to say the least. The speaker was great and challenged us all to be who God really wants us to be. The band leader was on American Idol this season. If you have been watching this season (which we haven't), you would probably remember him. His name is Sean Michel. He has really long hair and a really crazy looking beard (see post above). He is a great guy.
