Prayer Request

I received this email from a good friend of mine up here. I know the power of prayer is an amazing thing. God works through people in such different ways in time of need. If His will is for Brooke to go home, please pray for her family to be at ease with this. I'm not a parent, but I can't imagine losing a child. Please pray for my friend Hannah, her cousin Brooke, and their entire family during this time of trouble. Thanks! ~J

"Hi, guys,
My family is going through a crisis right now and would appreciate your prayers. (They have actually asked to have as many people praying as possible.) As a result of some tragic circumstances, my 26-year old cousin Brooke suffered extreme brain swelling and oxygen deprivation that has essentially left her with no brain functioning. She is on life support in the critical care unit in Conway. If she survives the next few days, my aunt and uncle will be forced to make some extremely difficult decisions. As you can imagine, their hearts are broken.

We are of course praying that if is possible for Brooke to be restored to health, God will bring restoration. But, barring a miracle, there is no hope for her to ever have any quality of life. They have been given no hope that she will ever regain consciousness or have any brain functioning beyond the involuntary functions of the brainstem. It is a horrible situation. We are praying that if Brooke is actually already gone, which the doctors have said is the case, that God will take her before her parents are forced to make any decisions. We are praying that it will be out of their hands. They are suffering immensely right now. Please pray for God to give them comfort, strength, and peace during this heartbreaking time. Please also pray for the rest of our family, especially Brooke's brothers and sisters. And, of course, please lift up Brooke during this terrible situation.

It is such a comfort to know that we have a strong network of friends to pray for us during such difficult times. We appreciate you guys more than you know. We will not be in town this weekend because we are going back to Conway, but I will keep you updated.
Thank you guys so much,
Hannah"
