BLOOPER:
On Thursday morning we were getting on the bus to go to Coba, and Josh was going to be smooth and talk to the bus driver. We had realized by this point that most bus drivers, even the ones for the hotel tours, don't speak English. So Josh says "buenas noches!" And he was very confident and sure of himself. The bus driver looks at him with this puzzled look and replies, "noches?!?! No...días!" And just laughs at him. Bless his heart. He was so proud of himself for speaking Spanish to this man, and he was so wrong. I wish I had had a video camera to catch this little blooper...I might have one some money with it.
BLUNDER:
On days that we weren't on tours we laid out by the pool. As mentioned, we knocked our digital camera in the water on one of these relaxing days and ended up taking the rest of our pictures on disposable cameras. I didn't realize how lucky I was to have such high quality pictures until I got my disposable camera pictures back. I was disappointed in the way that they turned out. They are all really dark and fuzzy. I got my new camera (a.k.a. my birthday gift) last Thursday.

At night we did various activities. They had little things set up every night. We went to the "casino night" and "karaoke night." We ate at all the restaurants.

BANK ACCOUNTS:
When we got home, Josh checked our online bank statement. There was a notice on there that said we needed to call them that there were suspicious charges on our account. We figured it was the charge we made for our massages. Josh calls them. The guy asked about a $200 charge made on June 12 at Sun Palace resort. "Yes, we made that one." Then he asked about a $450 charge made on June 8 at Moon Palace resort. "NO, WE DIDN'T EVEN GO THERE!" Yeah, so when they swiped our card for accidental charges, they must have given our number to someone at another of their hotels to run some charges. Josh disputed the charge and canceled that card.
So, now you have the whole story of our trip. Between drowned cameras, tours to Mayan ruins, beach time, and a fraudulent charge I think we had the true Mexican vacation experience. We will be returning but not to the same hotel.
