We're back

Hola! Well, we made it home safe and sound this afternoon. What a wonderful place! We had such a great time and I have sooooo many stories to tell. There won't be many pictures with this post, but I'll get to that.

We arrived in Cancun Saturday afternoon around 1pm. We got our luggage relatively quick, got through customs without a snap, and found our bus driver. Let me tell you, it is a mad house trying to find your ride. People are yelling at you wanting to take you with them. It was a little unnerving, but we got to the hotel. I was greeted right off the bus with a white carnation and a glass of champagne. I knew it would be a great trip! ;)

Anyway, Saturday and Sunday we just hung out at the hotel...laying by the pool and stuff like that. Monday, we went to Chichen Itza (or chicken pizza, as some like to call it). It was so neat. And to think that they built all those pyramids without modern technology. More on that later, but here is one picture for you viewing pleasure.

Tuesday morning we both had massages and then we laid out by the pool again. UNFORTUNATELY, my camera (yes, my digital camera) fell into the pool that glorious morning. LUCKILY, the picture are still on the SD card (we just found that out this afternoon). So, we had to buy a couple of disposable cameras for the rest of the trip. Hence, there really aren't a lot of pictures to post right now. I could post the Chichen Itza pictures, but I'll do it later. It's kind of neat going old school, though. There is an element of surprise of what the pictures are going to look like. It has been quite some time since I have had to wait to look at my pictures. Back to the itinerary. Wednesday, we went snorkeling. It was pretty cool. It had been raining that morning, so it was very overcast. I don't know how the pictures will turn out, but it was worth the experience. And speaking of rain...it rained the whole time we were at Chichen Itza. Which was okay, because it kept us cool. Thursday, we went to Coba (another Mayan ruin). This one is in the jungle. And it was HOT that day (it really made us thankful for the rain we had on Monday). We climbed to the top of a pyramid there. It really freaked me out, but Josh was proud of me. And then today, we came home. We were the first to get out luggage to go to customs which was really cool!!
Anyway, we are glad to be home. And we are really glad that we have a couple of days to catch up before going back to work. I have many stories to tell, and a lot of picture to post in the next week. I'll leave you with one more photo for today. Adios!
