We found out last Wednesday afternoon that baby Grabowski is a little girl. We are pretty sure that we are going to name her Alyssa Lynne. She measured 19W1d, and weighed 10oz. She looked very healthy...had all four chambers in her heart with a good heart beat, brain was there with no abnormalities, all ten fingers and toes (which she did not want to show us), good bladder function, kidneys were present, and most importantly there were no external boy parts.
So, funny story about the boys parts...
Josh, please don't kill me for sharing this, but it is just too hilarious not to share with everyone!!
We get there and they do your ultrasound first while you still have a full bladder so they can see your cervix, etc. My bladder was definitely full that day...I told the lady that it was torture to make a pregnant lady have a full bladder while you are poking a prodding all over my stomach. So, she said she would look at the cervix and what ever else and see if she could see what the baby was and let me go pee before proceeding with the rest of the ultrasound. So, she looks at the all the stuff needed with a full bladder and finds the baby's butt. Josh is standing by this point...very interested in the next part. So, the lady is looking around and my dear sweet husband is standing yelling "Do you see balls? Are there goobers?" And I mean repeatedly and very loudly!! The two ladies that were in there are just dying laughing by this point. So, she looks closely, whispers something to the other lady and says "There are definitely no balls present...you are having a GIRL!" You would have thought Josh lost the Super Bowl when he heard this. He said "Ahh man!! We talked about this guys...we talked every time. You were supposed to give me a boy." Oh, yes he was talking to his junk in front of the ultrasound ladies. I was about to pee on myself by this point. So, they clean me up, give me my sticker, and I go running (literally) out of the room. They were still laughing about it when I got back. Anyway, then we proceeded with the rest of the ultrasound (which Josh showed no interest in, btw).
That night after he taught 3rd grade RAs he came home and said he was glad we were having a little girl. I told him that was a good thing, since that's what we're having.
Everything looked great with her, though. She cooperated very well throughout the ultrasound except with her feet, which she wanted to hide behind my belly button. I do have partial placenta previa (which is where the placenta attaches on or near the cervix). My doctor is hopeful that as Alyssa grows and the uterus stretches that it will pull the placenta up with it. If not I will have a scheduled c-section, which is not the end of the world to me. They will check that in 8 weeks. We go back May 13 for a regular appointment.
So now for pictures...

IT'S A GIRL!!
I made Bear a t-shirt (from a 0-3 month onesie) that said "im gunna hava lit'l SISTER." We were going to let him tell my mom and dad what we were having when we got to Columbus Friday night.

So, that's about it for us. We have been doing a lot of traveling. Josh will be gone the next two weekends. It's just that time of year, I guess. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing great.

Jessica, congrats! I had no idea you were pregnant! Girls are so much fun---to shop for and to watch grow up. Michaela is something else---so animated! I'll be praying that the remainder of your pregnancy goes well!
