Back-tracking

As usual, I am behind on posting on the exciting events that the Grabowskis have been going through (yeah, right...we do NOT live a very exciting life, but I still need to catch everyone up that reads).

So, August 2 Josh's dad and his family stopped by on their way from New York to California. I say "stopped by"...it took several missed flights and a 3 hour drive for them to come visit. It was so nice to spend the day with them. I hate that it was only one day, though. I haven't seen Josh's dad, Bridgette, or the kids since our wedding, and let me just tell you the kids have definitely changed in four years. Adam, the baby, is the only one shorter than me (which I knew I would quickly become the runt of the Grabowski family), and it wasn't by much. So, for their visit we went to church, had a pick nick lunch at the park, the boys fished, I wrangled Bear (which is tougher than one might think), and we went to dinner that night to have BBQ. I mean you can't come to Memphis and not eat BBQ, right?
The next weekend in August was my baby shower at church. We got TONS of cute and useful things from our amazing church family. We are so blessed to have found a church family like the one that we have. The ladies from our Sunday school class threw the shower for me, and it was very nice. My friend, Angela, came from Conway, and my mom came too. It was great getting to spend time with both of them. Here are a few pictures from that day. Just a for warning...I look monstrously HUGE in these pictures. I am really not digging the camera these days.

So, then on August 20, four of the girls I work with threw me a shower at work. These girls went all out to make this shower so personal to me. They are such sneaky little boogers!! I'll explain... They made our wedding punch (which is my favorite punch EVER). I made it for a shower we threw several months back, and one of the girls had kept the recipe for it. I didn't know it was my punch at first. I tasted it and looked at the girl who made it and said "what kind of punch is this?" She giggled and replied "why does it not taste right?" I was so shocked. Then my cakes (yes they made two) were "ding-dong cakes." My grandmother makes them, and I brought some to work after my last visit with her. They remembered it and knew I loved them. Then they filled bottles with berry starbursts (also my favorite, especially the red/pink ones!!) and had peanut M&Ms (another favorite). For decorations they made sock roses, a diaper cake, washcloth lollipops, and a banner made out of diapers, burp cloths, bibs, and onesies. It was very overwhelming to know that they went to so much trouble for me. I love these girls, and I can't imagine working at GTx without them! Here are some pictures from that shower (again, excuse the hugeness).

So, that is all the back-tracking that needs to be done. For those of you who have not heard, Alyssa will be here by Friday. Yes, like in two days. I am going in to be induced at 4:30 a.m. Friday, September 4. We are VERY excited, and we can't wait to meet our little girl. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers Friday. We love you all, and I guess the next time I post it will be with pictures of Alyssa!!
