Trip to Columbus

We were finally able to go see our family in Columbus, MS this weekend. We haven't been to Columbus since Christmas. That is very unusual for us. But with Upward going on until the beginning of March, it was near impossible to get down there before now. We had a great time. We didn't get to see everyone we wanted to, though. It's hard trying to catch everyone when you are only there for a day and a half.

Mom and I went to the Miss State v. South Carolina game Saturday afternoon. MSU won in the 12th inning (6-5). It was a good game, but very long. My mom has a trailer in "Left Field Lounge." I always enjoy getting to go out there. My maid of honor, Elizabeth Lavender, and her sister, Leigh, came to visit us out there. We were able to catch up some. I haven't seen or talked to her in a couple of months, so it was great getting to see them.

Josh went turkey hunting with his friend Steven Platt Saturday morning. Mom and I saw more turkeys on our way to get breakfast than they did. He went fishing with my dad that afternoon (again, no luck).

Sunday, after church, we went to eat with Josh's Aunt Cheryl and his grandmother. After lunch we went to see our friends Kurt and Michele Shepherd and their daughter, Ella. Ella has gotten so big in the past few months since we have seen her last. She played with Bear, and she thought it was the funniest thing when he would bark. I was really worried that he would be too rough with her (he is usually real aggressive), but he did real well. She would pet him, and he would lick her face. Very funny :)
