Mommy and Daddy got a vacation!!

Yep, you read that right. Josh and I went on a cruise for our five year anniversary last week. We left Saturday (May 22) and got back Thursday (May 27). I was so glad to get the see my little sweet pea, but she was not excited to see me :( Oh, well...more on that in her post (check back soon if it isn't already there when you read this one...I'm doing 3 posts this afternoon).

Anyway, we left out of New Orleans and went to Progresso and Cozumel. Progresso is not so nice, actually. BUT Cozumel is absolutely gorgeous!! There isn't a whole lot to talk about from our cruise. We were pretty lazy the entire time. Our days consisted of getting up, eating breakfast, laying out until lunch (except port days...we ventured until lunch), eating lunch, taking a nap, laying out a little (if time permitted...depended on length of nap), getting ready for dinner, eating dinner, enjoying a show at the theatre, and going to bed by like 10, tehehe :)

Here are some pictures of our ship: Carnival Triumph

the big screen that they would show movies
and concerts on while we layed out and at night

Here are some pictures from our first port. Like I mentioned already, Progresso was not that nice. In fact to get to the city you had to go through a security check point where the guards were armed with machine guns. Made me really want to get off the bus. We shopped there for a little bit and walked down to the beach. We were back on the boat by lunch, though.

Here are some pictures from Cozumel. We swam with the dolphins while we were there. It was so much fun! You aren't allowed to bring a camera down with you, so all my pictures are from other people doing what we did. We did buy three pictures from them that they took of our time with the dolphins (these pictures were quite expensive!!)

As you may guess, Josh and I took a lot of self-portraits with it just being the two of us on the cruise together. Here are some of my favorites from the trip

On the cruise they set us up to eat dinner with a couple from Louisiana. They were really nice and it was fun getting to know someone on the cruise. This next set of pictures is from a couple nights at dinner where the wait staff would dance for us, and a few pictures that we took of the oil while coming back home Wednesday night. The oil is kind of hard to see, but if you look closely you can see the sheen on the water's surface.

Check back soon for a post on Alyssa and our visit with Josh's grandparents from Buffalo :)

I'm glad you got to go and relax for a week! We're doing the same cruise out of Mobile in January on the Elation. I enjoyed reading about yours!...even when you said machine guns. Maybe we'll just stay on the boat while we stop in Progresso!

Hey Jennifer! We saw the Elation at our stops. It's a really nice boat too from the looks of it :) Enjoy your cruise!
